Getting to PatSurf
A number of transportation options are possible:
(i)Ballina Airport to Byron Bay
Ballina Airport is the closest airport to Byron Bay….it is about 20 mins away, and you can either bus, taxi or hire a car to get from Ballina Airport to Byron Bay. Ballina airport is however only a domestic airport, so to get to Ballina, you will have to fly via Sydney or Melbourne. This is however a great option if you are visiting Sydney or Melbourne prior to the PatSurf conference.

(ii)Gold Coast Airport to Byron Bay
Most people are expected to also be attending the Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA) meeting on the Gold Coast just after the PatSurf conference (APAA dates are 29 October - 2 November 2021). It takes about an hour to travel by road from the Gold Coast to Byron Bay, and you can either travel by bus, or hire a car, for the easy 1 hour drive to/from Byron Bay.

Getting to APAA on the Gold Coast

The road trip takes about an hour, and you can travel either by bus or by car.
